'New' symptom

While we were in the hospital the doctors asked many, many questions. One of those being did Marcus ever have trouble breathing or chest pains.
He would shake his head no to answer them and I even I asked him if he remembered complaining of chest pains in the past. He swore he never had any issues in that area. I chalked it up to having mommy burn out brain and told myself I was wrong and he never did complain with chest pains.
Now back home guess what his major problem has been today? Tightness in the chest and shortness of breath.
This, along with other symptoms can be a sign of Lupus.

ETA: he also keeps on getting more sores (fever blisters?) in his mouth which can be another sign of the disease.

Oh My!

Joey doesn't take pictures very often but when he does it is always entertaining. In the pics below he chopped off the top of Marcus's head in the every one but this one here...well he outdone himself.
Look closely at Bre off to the side. Apparently she had just finished using the potty and came into the living room before pulling her underwear back up. Joey is just so dang good with his photography skills that he managed to snap this unforgettable shot.

Cardinal's Gear

Joey snapped these pics the first day of school. Marcus was Cards head to toe. Of course Bre had to get in the act too.

Home

We are home.
He isn't pain free but the pain medicine (Oxycodone) is doing a good job of controlling it at least. He is also on Naproxen for any inflammation.
We know nothing for sure yet. The doctors ran a lot of blood work, some of which has to be sent to Barnes's national headquarters in Denver for testing and will not be in for at least two weeks. They are also doing an intensive urinalysis and done a MRI last night. Of course it is a holiday weekend so we will not know anything till Tuesday once everyone starts working again.
As of now they think he is suffering from some sort of autoimmune disease, possibly Lupus. Joey has several family members with Lupus so it would stand to reason that is where they are turning their concerns to.

Admitted

Marcus has been admitted to SLCH for testing. Hopefully we will be back home soon.

pain....Update

Marcus is in so much pain. How he deals with extreme pain is to act goofy and bored. I know him better and know it is nothing but shear pain making him act this way.
I hate this. No active 10 year old child should get a hip infection period, especially not 2 in less than six months.

Update...
Joey just went after a script of Vicodin. Man there are not enough words to describe how much I hate this!

Lighten it up some, please

You know that saying that God only gives you what you can handle but I wish he didn't trust me so much?
We are living it right now and have been for some time.
I don't post about personal issues on this blog and won't so let's just say I am going through the hardest emotional time of my life-ever. To top it all off Marcus has another hip infection. This makes the second one in less than 6 months. He is in a lot of pain and can hardly walk. We are due in St. Louis to see all of his old immunologists this Thursday.
If you are a praying person then please say a prayer cause we sure could use an extra one right now. If you aren't a person who prays then please send good thoughts our way and tell the universe to lighten up some.

Weekend Get-a-way

For some reason Joey thought I needed to get away for the weekend. Just the 2 of us headed to St. Louis yesterday afternoon. We are taking it easy and mostly just hanging out. I have done a good bit of Christmas shopping....go ahead and laugh but I will be the one laughing at you a few months from now! Other than that we went to the St. Louis Art Museum. It is somewhere I have always wanted to go but figured I couldn't drag anyone along with me. Once again my husband has surprised me by not only going and being a good sport but actually acting like he enjoyed it too.
There will be pictures to follow (though most will probably find them boring).

Just Like Mommy's

Bre loves to look at any one's pretty fingernails and she loves to have her own painted. Just one problem though, she eats the polish off when no one is looking.
I am trying to tempt her out of this nasty habit by bribing her with the idea IF she didn't do that then she could have fingernails just like mommy's.
Today I went overboard and got flowers airbrushed on both thumbs. She liked them and wanted some just like mommy's but I still got the blank stare when I told her she couldn't eat them off though.
Maybe I should have went with pink flowers instead...maybe pink princess crowns. Nope, even I have limits.

Convention in town

School started back Wednesday, very early even for this redneck part of the country.
Of course Marcus's outfit for the day was Cardinals from head to toe but Dylan, well Dylan marches to his own beat (at least as much as he can get away with that is, LOL).
I am sure he would tell you after his experience Wednesday that school is holding him back by not letting him express himself. As for me all I done was try to straighten up his hair good enough for them to let him back in the front doors.
When I walked into the office after being called approximately 10 minutes after the bell had rang I was greeted by what I have been referring to as the "Rainbow Bright Convention".
There was a beautiful young lady with blond hair streaked with pink. Another girl with brown hair which included very unnatural red highlights. In the middle of the 2, of course he was in between the 2 girls-where else would he have been, was my blue haired baby boy!
I took him home and dyed over the shock blue with shock black color and the principle even thanked him for toning it down some and for removing his wallet from it's chain so it could be free.

Have I mentioned lately that I am NOT old enough to deal with all of this teenage stuff yet?

Groupie, 80's Style

I know this is a lot of pictures but I couldn't resist.
Grandma Ward and I took the boys to get school clothes Friday. While in Spencer's I found this dress and with much encouragement from grandma, decided to buy it. It reads "SORRY BOYS, I ONLY DATE ROCK STARS" in hot pink letters with an electric guitar in the background. I then found the hot pink footless tights at Gymboree (of course).
Today she went to preschool in true groupie style with an 80's fashion kick complete with a ponytail on the side of her head.
