Marcus's Weekend
Marcus went to St. Louis this weekend with his good friend Sammy and his parents, Gary and Terry.
They went to see the second to the last Cardinal game of the season, then went to Grant's farm the next day.
Marcus had a great time and was full of stories when I went to pick him up yesterday.
Thanks so much for taking him guys and a special thanks to Terry for the pictures to follow.

new haircut
I had her hair cut yesterday and she is adorable. It seems to fit her. For some reason it makes her look as ornery as she is!

My day
Let's see.......
Bre woke me up before 5:30 AM.
It's rained on and off all day and the sun never once has shined through.
I have a sinus infection and had to go to the doctor.
Bre has been a brat all day.
Marcus is bored and ticked that he has to stay home and stay still.
Yet I am still faking a smile cause that is what mommies do.
Gotta go, Marcus is playing catch with a house shoe. Yeah he still is not getting the concept of not being active and resting!

back home, again
We seen a different doctor this time at Children's and this one thinks he has something called apophysitis of the hip. Simply put it means he has overused his hip joint and severely pulled a ligament. It could have been caused by the intense stretching that he does playing first base since he refuses to step off the base and literally will do the splits to catch a ball.
I have read some about it and it seems some people are just more prone to this type of injury and it can be reoccurring (such as 6 months ago).
The cure for this is rest which is so ironic seeing how non-rest is what got him into this position to start with. He is to take it easy for 2 weeks while continuing his current anti-inflammatory medicine. Sounds simple enough except this child only rests when he is asleep! How am I to keep him from being active for 14 days??
I really do hope they have finally solved this mystery and he can eventually return to normal. I still am not completely forgetting about the possibility of Lupus given the family history and other symptoms he has, it is just being put on the back burner for now while we focus on resting.

Back to St. Louis
Marcus was due to return to St. Louis Children's Hospital on October 1st but it looks like we are going back tomorrow. He is in a lot of pain and the doctors said they need to see him.
I just hope they can actually find something this time!

Hurricane in Missouri
It seems as if you can still have a hurricane even if you are land locked.
We were without electric for awhile this morning and I am sure it will not stay cause the winds are horrible. Stuff that belongs in the back yard, such as the patio umbrella, is now in the front yard. And Bre described it best when she said "mommy our trees are falling"!
It is also very difficult to find gas and when you do of course it is above $4 a gallon. Today my tank was so low I would have paid $10 a gallon just to be bale to fuel back up. Luckily I found one gas station that had both power and gas-yay!
For now we have electric and a full tank of gas. It is amazing how the simple things in life can make ya so happy.

9-11
I don't believe there is an American who does not know what they were doing and where they were at seven years ago today.
I had taken my beloved grandmother to the doctors. Like always when she was in the vehicle with me I had kept the radio turned down low cause I knew she did not appreciate my taste in music plus we were too busy talking anyway to pay attention to it.
As I parked I heard a glimpse of something about an airplane crash. I thought how tragic and turned the car off knowing I would read about it later.
The doctor sent her down to the lab and as we waited watching the TV in the common waiting area we witnessed another plane hit the second tower.
In an instant you just knew this was no accident, in an instant you just knew life would never be the same again.
As I sit here writing this seven years later it still feels like it happened only yesterday. My heart goes out to all those who lost loved ones on this day, the day America cried.

Sick
This is how I know Marcus feels bad and is in pain. This was taken Friday at around 2 PM. So not normal for an active 10 year old boy.

I Want to know
I had to go and pick Marcus up from school today around noon. He was and still is in a lot of pain. Now his knee is stiff and hurting also but who knows if there is an issue with it or if it is just from the way he has been walking the last couple of days. I called SLCH and they told me to take him to his ped in the morning then have the doctor call them.
I hate this so much!! I want to know what is wrong with my child.
