Dream Vacation

To say our household had been hectic lately would have been putting it mild.
I am not going to go into the gritty details here, you will just have to take my word on it. Then Joey's family suffered a great loss. A young man lost his life and left behind 4 children, a wife and many others who loved him dearly.
Life is crazy, chaotic but also precious and can easily be taken away. So we threw all reasoning out the window and bought 5 planes tickets to depart ASAP...destination, St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.
I had always wanted to visit the Virgin Islands so this was a dream come true for me but I never expected to fall in love with it the way I did. The moment I stepped off the plane the island breeze hit my face and I stared at the colorful houses built into the hillsides, tears actually swelled up in my eyes from the extreme peace I felt. That sense of peace stayed with me the entire trip. The place will always seem sort of magical to me because of that.

Quick Road Trip To Texas

Joey had to make a quick trip to Texas and for some crazy reason Marcus and his friend Cody insisted on tagging along. Above are a couple of pictures of them catching some zzz's, enjoying the hotel pool, and Joey proving to Cody's mom that he does in fact drive the speed limit, LOL!

Goofing off before the party

This year with all that is going on we decided to combine Marcus and Bre's birthday parties into one. I don't have any pictures of the actual party cause my camera is acting up but a friend did take plenty with hers. Once I get the disk from her I will post them here. In the meantime here are a few of the kids goofing off before everyone got here.

Rash

This is what his face looked like when I called him upstairs a little bit ago for lunch. I think I gasped before I caught myself. His cheeks are bright red, hot, and puffy. The only positive is his nose isn't shining like the other day.

Is this the 'butterfly rash' that so many doctors have questioned us about in the past?
