That is what we are having the last 2 weeks-a clothing war. It is me against Bre and she is wining most of the time.
Every day we have went through the same thing and it ends up with me frustrated and her crying. Here is how it goes down.....
She will say no to every item of clothing that I offer her. She will then insist of some shirt that she has already worn once or twice that same week. I tell her no pick another one she starts to cry and it is all downhill from there. If we are not fighting about a whole outfit then it is about the pants or shoes.
This morning she picked out a pink t-shirt with butterflies, fine good choice I think. Next she is very determined she is wearing her pink flip flops even though it is only 50 something degrees outside. I go along with it just trying to keep the peace. I pull a pair of jeans off the hanger that she has worn many times before and all heck breaks loose.
She starts screaming and I do mean screaming that she does not want those pants. I think WTH they are just jeans. She has no other pants that would match cause she has outgrown all her plain pink pants and I haven't replaced them seeing how summer and short season is just around the corner.
I drag her into them with her screaming "I don't want those pants!"
I drag her to the Jeep with her still screaming.
I drag her into preschool with her yet still crying over a stupid pair of jeans.
I try to give her choices but she is making it impossible. Plus I didn't buy a closet full of clothing to have her wear the same $7 Wal-Mart SpongeBob t-shirt every single day. I also refuse to crumble under the pressure and let a 4 year old child get her way every single time. I just can't figure out what has brought this defiance along. I hope it is just a phase that is soon outgrown instead of a new way of life every single day.
